Membership card, till and admin panel
Smajl is a complete loyalty platform for restaurants. Guests have the membership card, staff have the till and the owner has the admin panel, and all of them follow the same rules.

Quick at the counter
A tablet or phone at the counter. Nothing to install, and nothing that takes more than five minutes to learn.
- A PIN per site: only its hash is ever stored
- Scan with the camera or a handheld scanner, or search by name or phone
- A big keypad for the amount; accidental double taps are caught
- Redeem reward codes at the counter
- Keeps working offline and syncs afterwards

Your rules, changed from the dashboard.
Points
Points per euro, welcome and birthday bonuses, and expiry. By default one point per euro, and 20 points are worth €1 of menu value.
Tiers
Bronze, Silver and Gold, each with its own earning rate. Members are never demoted.
Rewards
Priced from your own menu: something to claim on the first visit, and something worth saving for.
Campaigns
Stamp cards, visit streaks, spend thresholds, happy hours and seasonal multipliers, for one site or all of them.
Reach your regulars directly.
A list of regulars who have said yes, and it belongs to you, not to a social network or a delivery platform.
SMS
Broadcasts with the exact price shown before sending, and a guard if it changes.
Push
Web push for guests who opted in. No app required.
Account e-mails in each guest’s own language.
Built to be trusted.
- Your own database, hosted in the EU (Stockholm)
- An append-only points ledger: every point has a line and a reason
- PINs and API keys are stored only as hashes
- The right to erasure runs immediately
- Signed integrations: the same receipt never counts twice
Strengths and limits
Where it shines
- Your brand, not ours. Guests join your club, not a marketplace.
- Nothing to download, so joining takes seconds at the counter.
- You change rewards, campaigns and staff logins yourself.
- Made and supported in Vaasa, in Finnish, Swedish and English.
Good to know
- The pass is a web app. Want a proper app in the App Store and Google Play? It is available at extra cost. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes are not available yet.
- Camera scanning doesn’t work in Safari on iPad. A handheld scanner or an Android tablet solves it, and search always works.
- Sign-ups depend on staff asking. We help with training and table cards, but someone has to ask the question.
- Rewards are a real cost. Budget about 1.5–2% of member revenue. The dashboard shows the liability.
- Each point-of-sale system is connected once we’ve seen what it sends, so ask us about yours.

Frequently asked questions
Do guests have to download an app?
No. The membership card is a web app that works on any phone and can be added to the home screen. A proper app in the App Store and Google Play is available at extra cost.
Does Smajl work with our POS?
A POS that can send purchases by webhook or through our REST API can be connected to the club. Otherwise staff use our own till app on a tablet or phone. Tell us which system you have and we will say how it can be connected.
Where is the data stored?
Each restaurant has its own database in the EU (Stockholm). Members are never shared with another restaurant.
What if the connection drops?
The till works offline. It queues purchases and sends them when the connection is back, so no guest loses their points.
Can guests delete their data?
Yes, in the club app. Personal details are removed at once. Purchases the restaurant must keep under bookkeeping law remain without personal details.
How do we get started?
We set up the club with your brand, rewards and staff logins, train your staff and print table cards. You start with a pilot at one site.
We’re constantly working on new features.
